About the Classes

Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa – linking movement with breath.
A Vinyasa Flow yoga class is a series of traditional yoga postures which are linked by focusing on the inhale and exhale of the breath. This brings the practitioner into the present moment, helping reduce stress.
The yoga poses (asanas) are linked into a sequence which may feature standing and seated exercises. The practice will gradually build heat in the body meaning it can be challenging. The final part of the class will include cooling stretches and a Savasana (corpse pose).
Regular members can expect to see an increase in flexibility, strength and balance as well as a more grounded and peaceful outlook.
Pilates
Pilates was developed nearly a 100 years ago by Joseph Pilates as a way to help injured dancers recover from ‘repetitive strain’ injuries.
Today it has a much wider audience and is suitable for all levels of physical ability. The mostly mat based seated or laying exercises focus on building core strength and improving flexibility, posture and, balance.
Each week the class offers something different to work on. Pilates is suitable for all levels including beginners. Adaptations are available if needed.

Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic style of yoga emphasising a set sequence of postures, synchronising breath with movement, and building heat and strength.
It is known for its structured practice, vinyasa transitions, and emphasis on internal purification and mental clarity. The term “Ashtanga” refers to the eight limbs of yoga described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, encompassing a holistic approach to practice.
Whilst suitable for all levels as adaptations are offered, it is a more challenging style of yoga.
Slow Flow Yoga
Slow Flow Yoga is based on a traditional Vinyasa Flow practice, yet whilst some Vinyasa Flow practices can be energetic, dynamic and heat building, a slow flow practice takes things much slower. Movement from one pose to another is gentler and slower and postures are held longer. Suitable for all levels including beginners.
Rise & Shine Yoga
A traditional Vinyasa Flow class (see above) but practiced nice and early! Whilst it can be a challenge getting up and out to get to your mat, regular members agree that afterwards you are truly revived and grounded for your day ahead! Suitable for all levels as adaptations are offered but like other Vinyasa Flow classes it can be challenging.
Candlelight Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is a yoga class where you will experience deep rest, relaxation and body restauration.
Restorative yoga uses props like bolsters and blankets to support the body on resting poses, promoting relaxation and a somatic embodied experience.
It can provide passive healing as it supports the nervous system and helps to release habitual tension in the body and mind. This practice offers many benefits like stress relief, calming the nervous system, helping the body and mind to rest and restore.
The studio is lit by low lighting and candles to further enhance relaxation.

Chair Yoga
This fun, accessible and gentle class will appeal to anyone whom likes the idea of practicing yoga but whom may have difficulty with mat based and knee exercise or whom is recovering from injury.
During this class you will do a range of yoga-based movements from a seated position, with lots of options and levels so you can do what’s right for your body.
This class will build your flexibility, help you connect with your body and explore your range of movement. The class also includes some breathing (pranayama) and short meditations, incorporating some yoga philosophy.
Hatha Yoga
The name Hatha combines the sanskrit names for the Sun (Ha) and the Moon (Tha).
This class is a great introduction to the benefits of yoga on our physical and mental health. In this class you will explore the key yoga poses (asana) along with some breath work (pranayama) and enjoy moments of yoga philosophy.
You’ll build flexibility, strength, balance and confidence in your body, as well as learning to relax and rest through yoga. You don’t need to be super flexible to enjoy this class – it is great for beginners and seasoned Yogi’s alike.

Yin Yoga for Relaxation
Yin yoga is a practice that compliments the more active & energetic Yang yoga practices (think Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga etc..). Yin Yoga focuses on postures which work on connective tissue & fascia rather than directly working muscles, which aids all round flexibility and good health and supports muscles. Energy flow is enhanced leaving the participant in a deep state of inner peace and relaxation.
This slow-paced yoga class focuses on stress relief and deep relaxation. The class is designed to release tension and calm the nervous system.
You can expect a combination of slow fluid movements, longer held yin and restorative poses. The use of props such as bolster cushions, bricks and belts offers support and comfort. The class also features breathing exercises and guided relaxation.
A great class for people looking for a practice that moves as a slower pace also a good way to balance a more dynamic yoga practice or busy lifestyle. Suitable for all levels, including beginners. No prior yoga experience required
